Trading Before FOMC on the MES +16 Points

day trading trading recaps Jan 28, 2021

So this morning, during my Zoom workout, I could see the market ZIPPING in the background and MAN if the FOMO didn’t take ahold of ME!  So I decided to skip the shower and trade instead.  I knew that in doing that I might get into something that I was pushing myself into because I felt I had missed out.

Luckily, I got ahold of my thoughts pretty quickly and turned out to have a pretty sweet day! I was starting to feel like I’d missed a lot of moves and had to take a breath to remind myself—any move I’m not in is NOT a missed move.  It is simply the market moving and I’ll catch one when I’m ready.  Also,  I really feel as though moving to a larger stop and being able to bring it in some has been super beneficial for my trading.  It was a bit of a challenge to just get over the mental ride at first, but I think I’ve got it down pretty much.

I love the fact that we can make money whether the market is going up or down, so this drop is heaven for a lot of traders because of the old, “bad news travels fast” mindset.  That is so true in trading and SO beneficial when you’re allowed to short trade!  Yes!!

Well folks, it’s a little later than planned (when is it not with me really lol) and I’m ready to eat the dinner I made an hour ago.  Much love good peeps and I hope to see you around on Friday!!

Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones’ financial security or lifestyle. CFTC Rules 4.41 - Hypothetical or Simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, because the trades have not actually been executed, the results may have under-or-over compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs, in general, are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
